A faerie-house trail
The Secret Garden Trail
Slip through the Faerie Portal into a hidden secret garden, then on through Hemlock Grove and the gnomes’ domain.
Where it begins
Starts at 644 Main Street, beside Suttles & Seawinds.
Beside Suttles & Seawinds at 644 Main Street, you must pass through the magical Faerie Portal into the hidden secret garden. Here you will find the Queen’s Castle, with its Banquet Hall and Ballroom for wing ceremonies, a special spot for Garden Party Teas, the Manor House and Gardener’s Hideaway, the Jester’s Cottages and the glittering Crystal Palace.
Climb carefully out of the secret garden, turn left and follow the trail to the tall trees by the little stream — this is Hemlock Grove, home to the Faerie Apothecary and the Library of Spells & Potions. Up ahead, beside the pergola and the big table, is the Gnome Garden Wall; gnomes are the finest gardeners in all the Spirit World, so watch for their potting shed and the Finn & Tonic Pub (a necessary stop after a long day in the gardens).
As you leave the gnomes, beware the grumpy troll beneath the little bridge just before Quince Borough — the neighbourhood of the most skilled faeries, where carpenters, roofers and mechanics build and repair whatever everyday faerie life requires. Rest a while among the trees and enjoy the secret garden. Then head up the path into the parking lot and turn right onto Main Street — the Merrymaking Trail lies ahead, with even more faerie life to discover.
